Second conversation on LingQ

Since fluent English is required for my work experience in Sofia, I had another Skype conversation in English today, with another British tutor at LingQ, Helen. She is one of the most active British members at LingQ and this is why I signed up for a conversation with her.

We had a 20-minute talk and she proved to be a very caring woman: she asked me a lot of questions about myself and my coming work experience in Bulgaria (which I referred to as "traineeship", but she suggested I should use "work experience").

As Harry did yesterday, also Helen wrote in her conversation report that my English is "excellent, just slightly more careful and structured than a native would colloquially use. You could try to learn to speak English less properly :-)" I feel flattered, but I'm still not satisfied with my English oral skills, so I will sign up for more English conversations in the coming days.

I am going to finish sharing the third chapter of the novel "Cuore" by Italian novelist Edmondo de Amicis in the LingQ Italian library soon. You can find it here, but you should read the first and the second chapter first!

After some weeks, I have listened to a couple of Swedish lessons from the Who is She? collection. I still find the pronunciation very hard and I'm probably not listening and reading enough, but I hope I'll learn Swedish sooner or later. I am also going on with my Teach Yourself Bulgarian book, even if at a slow pace...

Bye for today,

Michele

My first conversation as a student

Although I have been a member of LingQ.com for 10 weeks now, I still hadn't signed up for a conversation with a tutor. Sure, I have held a certain number of conversations with other students, but always as a tutor.

After coming back from my holidays in France, I decided that it was time to improve my oral fluency in English, especially because I am going to need it during my three-month traineeship at the Italian Embassy in Sofia, Bulgaria. So, I signed up for a conversation with Harry, a young British guy. We finished talking some minutes ago: although I had only booked a 15-minute conversation, we talked for 50 minutes! It was a very pleasant talk and I am looking forward to our next one.

Tomorrow, I am going to have another Skype convesation in English with another LingQ member, Helen. I think it will be an interesting talk too. Harry told me he likes the way Helen writes on her blog. I definitely have to start reading it!

I hope I will write more soon, in all the languages I am studying,

Michele
